What we collect

We collect nothing about you ourselves.

  • There are no accounts, sign-ups, comments or forms.
  • There is no analytics, tracking pixel or advertising.
  • Nothing is stored in your browser: no cookies and no local storage.

Cookies and other sites

This site sets no cookies, and neither does our hosting setup.

Every page loads its fonts, images, styles and scripts from movertape.com only. Your browser contacts no other site unless you follow a link to one.

Hosting logs

Our host, AWS Amplify, keeps a standard log of each request to the site.

  • your IP address
  • your browser’s user agent (its name and version)
  • the page you came from (the referrer)
  • the page requested and the time
  • the Amazon CloudFront location that served it

Amplify keeps these logs for as long as the site is hosted there: AWS says it keeps an app’s access logs until the app is deleted. They are held in the AWS account of Second Dot LLC, which operates this site. We use no analytics and don’t combine these logs with anything else.

Our own code writes no request logs. Its only log lines describe the requests our server makes to StockFit for market data: what it asked for (the type of data and the ticker), whether the request worked, how long it took and how much of the day’s request allowance is left. They contain nothing about visitors.

Market data requests

Your browser never contacts StockFit, the site’s data source.

Our server requests market data from StockFit with the site’s own key. These requests carry nothing about visitors: no IP address, browser details or cookies. They run when pages are built or refreshed, not once per visit. StockFit is operated by the same company as this site (where the data comes from).

Once you follow a link to another site, that site’s own policies apply.

When you do, your browser tells the other site only that you came from movertape.com, not which page you were reading.

Who is responsible

Second Dot LLC operates this site. Its postal address is under who operates this site in our terms of use.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page before the site adds ads, analytics, cookies or anything else that changes what it says here. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
